“AT4D and the Judith Neilson Foundation Unveil Africa’s First Assistive Technology Investment Pilot.”

Momentous Fund-Establishing the Investment Catalyst for Assistive Technology in Africa.

Africa’s assistive technology market is one of the most urgent and underfinanced innovation frontiers in the world.
Nearly 200 million people across the continent require at least one assistive product, according to the World Health Organization. Yet access remains critically low, and early-stage innovators building life-changing solutions struggle to access patient, flexible capital.

The Momentous Fund Pilot, launched by Assistive Technologies for Disability Trust (AT4D) in partnership with the Judith Neilson Foundation, is Africa’s first early-stage investment pilot dedicated to assistive technology (AT).

We are building more than a fund.
We are building the foundation for an Africa-led AT investment ecosystem.

Assistive technology is not charity, It is infrastructure for participation, productivity, and economic inclusion for persons with disabilities.

Investing in AT unlocks education, employment, entrepreneurship, and independence for millions of people — while opening high-growth, underserved markets. Momentous exists to prove that disability innovation in Africa is investable, scalable, and essential.
